Manager Telecommunications Software Engineer

NOZA is an exciting and dynamic organization that is shaping the future of broadband and wireless network connectivity. The present opening is regarding the management of a team of R&D engineers that use data collected from networks for diagnosing issues and optimization technologies in Wi-Fi to advance Cloud-based software management solutions. The position also involves the use of learning algorithms to assess consumer Wi-Fi-related issues and consequent Quality of Experience.

This role will work closely with System Engineers, Developers and Product leads to get maximum efficiency of Wireless access networks through improvement, development, and implementation of various algorithms. Successful candidates are expected to manage a team of 5-10 R&D systems engineers in several global locations. To succeed in this role at NOZA, the candidate needs to have a strong background in Wireless Communications, Wi-Fi protocols/standards, and expertise in Java Development and Python scripting, as well as experience managing a team of individual contributors.

Education

    Required: Master’s/PhD degree with 7 years of experience. At least 3 years of experience managing a team

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of 5-10 R&D engineers.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving existing algorithms as well as development of new algorithms
  • Create and develop optimization and diagnostics algorithms for Wi-Fi networks
  • Analyze big data collected from large Wi-Fi networks and mobile devices using machine learning
  • Analyze physical, link, and network layer performance
  • Work with large broadband/Wi-Fi service providers, and present results based on the field data

Desired Experience and Qualifications include all or some of:

  • 3+ years of experience in Wi-Fi Technology
  • Knowledge of 802.11 PHY/MAC and management protocols, including 802.11kvr
  • Experience in machine learning and big data analysis tools
  • Experience in network management systems is highly desirable
  • Experience in performance analysis of Wireless networks using simulators
Additional Desired Skills or Ability to Learn:
  • Programming (JAVA preferred)
  • Big data analysis using Python
  • Hands-on experience with Unix environment and scripting tools, GitHub, Jenkins, and other build and development environments.
  • Knowledge of databases like MongoDB and ClickHouse.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trusting relationships within a diverse team and across global organizations.
